Once in a Lifetime Opportunity to arrive in Newry by Steam Train.
Southern Area Hospice and local history enthusiasts of the Old Newry Society have joined to provide an exciting day out for all the family on Saturday 22nd April.
Leaving at 11.30am by coach from Newry Railway Station, the first stop will be the Ulster Transport Museum at Cultra where you can step aboard historic trains, buses and other forms of travel including our very own Bessbrook Tram.
After a few hours of investigation, you will travel on to Whitehead in County Antrim to get a real life stem train with antique carriages to take you on the two-hour chug back to Newry Station arriving at 8.20pm.
If you prefer an alternative to the Transport Museum then you can join a separate group going to visit Carrickfergus Castle. A recent comment on Tripadvisor says, “I really enjoyed the historical videos. My kids enjoyed the life sized figures of historical characters and the interactive centre where they could try on hats, do puzzles and hand on activities.”
The cost of the all round trip including the Steam Train journey is:
