rory-dumigan-frank-mitchellThe Awards recognise the contribution made by individuals, organisations and projects to improve road safety in their communities.  Nominations are considered under ten categories and the winners will be announced at a high-profile ceremony at Cultra Manor, Belfast on Friday 25th November, which is part of Road Safety week.  The event is organised by Road Safe NI and sponsored by Northern Ireland’s leading accident management company, CRASH Services,

Tony McKeown from CRASH Services said:

“With just over a week to go to the deadline, we’re urging as many individuals, groups and organisations from right across Northern Ireland to get their nominations in. The Road Safety Awards recognise the achievements of all those who work hard to keep us all safe on the roads.

“You can enter yourself or if you know someone who deserves to be recognised, then please nominate them or encourage them to put themselves forward.”

Last year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Watch Commander Rory Dumigan, added his voice to the call for entries.

“It was a real privilege to be recognised with an award last November.  I know there is so much work going on across Northern Ireland in road safety education.  A lot of this work goes unnoticed and a lot is carried out by volunteers, who give up their own time.  These awards shine a light on this important work and I would encourage you to nominate anyone you know who works in this area.

The awards, which are also supported by Abbey Centre, New Driver NI, Hankook Tyres, Applegreen, JMK Solicitors, Green Motion car and van rental, AA Drive Tech and Business Compliance Solutions, will be judged by an expert panel made up of representatives from the private, public and voluntary sectors.

Details of how to enter are at www.crashservices.com/niroadsafetyawards, which includes eligibility criteria. The closing date for entries is Friday 28th October at 5pm. For further information, call Crash Services on 028 9066 0244.
