CRASH Services were honoured at the prestigious NI Motor Industry Awards, which is now in its fourth year, at a gala dinner attended by over 150 guests at the Stormont Hotel in Belfast last night.

CRASH won the Road Safety Category Award for their innovative New Driver NI brand.  The brand includes Safe Motoring presentations to schools and colleges, a website and social media channels as well as promoting the Department for Infrastructure’s Share the Road to Zero road safety pledge. To date, New Driver NI has delivered 120,000 magazines and presented to 40,000 students in over 90% of the post 16 schools in Northern Ireland.

Tony McKeown, Sales and Marketing Director of CRASH Services, said “We are delighted that our New Driver NI programme has received recognition from the judging panel. Over the last four years, we have developed practical resources for young drivers to educate them to be better road users. A lot of work has been put in, particularly by Project Manager Stephen Savage.  Feedback from schools and parents has been very positive and we will be adding new features to New Driver NI in the coming months.

The awards are sponsored by Wilson’s Auctions and attract entries from the wider motoring industry including fleet operators, fleet suppliers and car manufacturers.  Noel Thompson of the BBC was the compere on the night.

This is the second year in a row that CRASH have been honoured after they came out on top of the Customer Service Category last year.
