CRASH Services and Southern Regional College Embark On Fully Funded Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Training for Local Car Technicians
CRASH Services, in partnership with Southern Regional College (SRC), is proud to deliver the Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities. This comprehensive two-day training course is specifically designed to give technicians the skills to maintain and repair electric/hybrid vehicles. The qualification is industry-recognised and fully funded by the Department for the Economy Skills Focus Programme, making it accessible to businesses with under 250 employees or social enterprises.
As the demand for electric and hybrid vehicles continues to grow, it is essential for technicians to possess the skills and knowledge to work safely around high and low voltage electrical systems and electric drive train systems.
The training sessions for the Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities commenced at SRC’s Portadown Campus in April and will run to mid-June. With almost 100 attendees, this overwhelming response demonstrates the strong interest and demand for electric/hybrid vehicle training among automotive professionals.
The course, delivered by SRC’s experienced instructor Thomas Hobson consists of a theory day that covers the operation and safety requirements of electric and hybrid vehicle systems and an online exam. Following the theory day, students will participate in a practical day where they will complete a practical assessment, including powering down and powering up the high-voltage systems.
Upon successful completion of the course, technicians will receive an industry-recognised qualification and certificate. This qualification also serves as a stepping stone for further advancement to the Level 3 course, which includes more advanced diagnostics and repair knowledge.
